CBDPure has been providing customers across the United States with lab-tested CBD products sourced from Colorado hemp since 2016.

Wherever you live in the US, you’ve probably noticed that CBD, or cannabidiol, is everywhere—and in everything—these days. While this molecule has always been present in cannabis, it’s been in the cultural spotlight lately, turning up in everything from tinctures to empanadas.

The sudden selection of products containing CBD can be overwhelming to new consumers, though. If CBD isn’t something you’ve thought about much before, it’s understandable to have plenty of questions about how to bring it into your life, whether it’s your first time with cannabis or not.

Fortunately, the plethora of new products found on shelves and online doesn’t mean that every retailer is new at this. CBDPure, for one, has been helping consumers find quality hemp-derived CBD products since 2016. Since they’ve been answering hundreds of questions every day for half a decade, they have a good sense of the questions people are asking about this rapidly growing industry.

Below, we’ve collected thoughts from their team of CBD industry veterans on common questions about this cannabinoid and how to find the CBD product that’s right for you.

Will CBD get me ‘high’?

When you think of a cannabis “high,” you’re probably thinking of the effects of THC, the psychoactive substance that is associated with heady euphoria as well as the less-desirable effects like anxiety and memory impairment. CBD, on the other hand, leaves consumers clear-headed while still being associated with some positive effects of the plant, such as pain relief and relaxation.

Though CBD does not get you high, if the CBD hasn’t been properly isolated, trace amounts of THC can linger in the final product. That’s why it’s important to seek out CBD suppliers who routinely and thoroughly test the products they’re selling.

What are common reasons people seek out CBD?

One reason CBD is so popular is because of its utility. CBDPure staffers have seen many different types of people seeking out CBD products for everything from battling inflammation for alleviating anxiety. People use CBD for childhood behavioral issues, menstrual relief, ADHD, pain management, and even for calming their pets.

While many patients understand anecdotally that CBD helps them, emerging research shows that CBD may be associated with relief from conditions including epilepsy, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, chronic pain, and inflammation. Stay tuned though! More research than ever is going into the benefits of CBD, and the Farm Bill opened the door for further testing that promises to provide more concrete answers regarding the potential benefits of CBD.

What is the appropriate dose of CBD?

This is another area that stands to benefit from more research into CBD going forward. For now, it’s up to every patient to find a dose that works for them. For those trying to address a specific physical condition, the CBDPure team generally recommends starting in the range of 10 to 15 milligrams per day and then increasing that dosage gradually until consumers achieve the effects they’re looking for. For customers who are just getting started, CBDPure’s 600 mg CBD oil or 750 mg softgels can be a great way to start finding the right dose for them.

What’s the best way to take CBD?

There are lots of ways to get your CBD. Among CBDPure’s most popular products are their CBD oils and oil-filled softgels. The oil in both is produced the same way, so they suggest trying the consumption method that best fits a consumer’s lifestyle. For those who are sensitive to tastes, the softgels—which mask the earthy, slightly nutty natural flavor of CBD oil—might be a better place to start.

How do I know whether a CBD product is good?

There are a few things that CBDPure suggests looking for on this front. First, consumers should peruse ingredients and make sure there’s a high enough concentration of CBD in the product they’re using.

The CBDPure team also recommends keeping an eye on how the cannabidiol in a product was extracted. CBDPure employs a CO2 extraction process that uses pressurized carbon dioxide to extract the CBD from the hemp plant, as this method is free of any harsh chemical solvents, environmentally friendly, and non-toxic.

To play it extra safe, consumers should look for test results from third party labs to accompany CBD products. As an example, CBDPure’s team tests each product to understand not only cannabinoid concentration, but also demonstrate the absence of pesticides, microorganisms, heavy metals, and residual solvents, and shares those results with customers.

Is CBD legal?

This is still a tricky one in the United States. In December 2018, the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, also known as the Farm Bill, went into effect. For the first time, it contained a provision that put the country’s hemp production into a gray area. Specifically: it made hemp, or Cannabis sativa with a THC content of 0.3% or less, legal under US Department of Agriculture’s authority.

However, other agencies with a stake in regulating CBD, such as the FDA, still have yet to weigh in. While the Farm Bill changed the status of hemp plants under the Controlled Substances Act, CBD’s status is not yet written in stone. The short answer though, is that hemp plants contain CBD, and under proper regulation, it’s perfectly legal to cultivate and distribute hemp products.
