Cannabis Retail Guide: Canna Cabana, EdmontonDeidre OlsenJune 21, 2019
Owned by High Tide Inc., the Alberta-born company has parlayed a decade of manufacturing and retailing cannabis accessories into a prolific chain of licensed cannabis retailers that could one day span across the country.
Albertans may already be familiar with Canna Cabana’s predecessor Smoker’s Corner. The company’s website has announced plans to convert many of its existing 19 locations into licensed cannabis stores.
Expansion into other provinces is also underway. Presently, the chain operates outlets in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.
“This is the first shop in Edmonton that hasn’t struck me as pretentious,” writes one Leafly reviewer.
The Westmount location is smack dab in the middle of a trendy neighbourhood and the eclectic store fits in alongside eclectic art galleries, restaurants, and boutiques buzzing with university students.
The store announces itself from the sidewalk with an oversized sign projecting out from the building’s facade where windows are shaded by images of sunlit palm leaves.
Step inside to voyage into a colourful cannabis paradise packed with accessories proudly showcased in overcrowded display cases.
Whether you’re fresh on the cannabis scene or a veteran consumer, there’s always something new to learn. Canna Cabana employees are eager to assist with all your cannabis needs.
Cannabis products presented in glass cases are easy to browse and are labeled to identify CBD and THC content, terpenes, and prices in a quick glance. Notably, there are few bud samples available to inspect, and even those are locked behind glass.
To place an order, you’ll need to snag the attention of staff on the sales floor who can pluck products straight out of display cases and then ring you up at the counter.
Staff are also available to answer questions and assist in the search to find the right cannabis strains and products.
Products & Prices
If you’re looking for funky cannabis accessories, Canna Cabana is the place to go. The company manufactures many of the glass bongs and colourful pipes on display so the store is packed full of products not found at competing stores.
What You Should Know
The store is wheelchair accessible and there is free streetside parking outside the store, plus a lot across the street. Per provincial law, staff will check for valid IDs on anyone who appears under 25.
