Cannabis a Hot Topic at Terroir Hospitality Symposium

Cannabis is set to spice up the Terroir Symposium in Toronto this spring. The annual event, hosted by the Culinary Tourism Alliance, brings together chefs, hoteliers, drink experts, writers, and business leaders from the field of hospitality and tourism.

Featuring 12-minute talks and two in-depth panel discussions, alongside six industry-focused workshops, the theme of the 2019 symposium is Risks & Rewards in a Changing Food Culture. New this year: cannabis is a hot topic in the lead up to the next wave of regulations which will allow for infused-edibles across the country.


Health Canada Proposes Regulations for Edibles, Extracts, and Topicals

On the itinerary; a 12-minute talk by Canopy Growth President & CEO Mark Zekulin, and a session titled “Cannabis, risks now for future rewards” featuring entrepreneurs Peter Neal of Neal Brothers, Sarah Best from Dirt Dinner Series, and Shega Youngson of Canopy Growth as they discuss the business development steps they are taking now to grow this new sector of tourism and foodservice in Canada.
