Cannabis events in Alberta for November 2019

As the days get shorter and the nights get cooler, will your joints get longer? For those not yet ready to hibernate, the calendar is studded with industry events, workshops, and networking opportunities.

Check out these cannabis events happening across Alberta this November.

Calgary

Tokyo Smoke Presents Higher Learning: Legalization 2.0

When: November 6, 6 p.m.-7 p.m.
Where: Tokyo Smoke Beltline, 1205 1 Street SW, Calgary

Get everything you need to know about the next wave of legalization—the edibles edition—and stick around for a concise history of prohibition. If that’s not enough for you, apparently there’ll be refreshments on hand, that may or may not involve something chocolatey.

Cultivation in a Cold Climate with Fred Mills Presented by CaneXions

When: November 6, 7 p.m.-10 p.m.
Where: Schanks Sports Grill, 9627 Macleod Trail, Calgary

Frosty temps are far from ideal for growing your fields of green but growing guru Fred Mills has, at least some, solutions. Oh, and it’s also wing night at Shanks, so heck yeah!

eHub Innovation & Entrepreneur Dinner 2019 – The New Canadian Cannabis Industry

When: November 7, 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
Where: Matrix Hotel, 10640 100 Ave. NW, Calgary

Join University of Alberta’s Entrepreneurship Centre for their annual student dinner and sit in on a panel of seasoned investors and entrepreneurs discussing failures and successes in the business of cannabis.

Hemp Roots & Gizeh Present: How to Roll a Joint

When: November 16, 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Where: Hemp Roots Montgomery, 4614 Bowness Rd. NW, Calgary

Did you know that 4.2 out of 12 pot smokers don’t know how to roll a joint? Ok, we made up that figure, but there are definitely a lot of you out there, and that’s ok! Hemp Roots and Gizeh have teamed up to show you to use your fingers to properly spin something up. Be sure to BYOC and acquire your tickets in advance!

Edmonton

GreenSpark YEG

When: November 7, 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Where: The Common (downstairs), 9910 109 St. NW, Edmonton

GreenSpark’s networking events are the kinds of get togethers where big ideas get shared and magic can happen. Come out and ignite with the Edmonton cannabusiness community.

Medicine Hat

Hemp & Cannabis Opportunities Conference

When: November 7, 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Where: Medicine Hat College, 299 College Dr. SE, Medicine Hat

Vegreville

CHIC Cannabis & Hemp Demo Day

When: November 23, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Where: Cannabis & Hemp Innovation Centre, 6212 55 Ave., Vegreville

It’s been seven weeks of training and mentoring at the innovative Cannabis & Hemp Centre’s Cannabis Accelerator program and participants are finally ready to share their pitches. Whose projects will get re-rolled, and whose will get lit? Find out over drinks and hors d’oeuvres at this open event.
