Lemon Jeffery

12/7/2023
I love this strain. Excellent. Uplifting, energetic, great strain when you have a bunch of stuff to do and don't want to be distracted. Grew 4 genotypes of Lemon Jeffery in my last run. My chosen pheno has strong lemon and grapefruit flavors, with a subtle candy sweetness on the tail. I had two (cloned) plants from this seed, and harvested one at 58 days ("early harvest") and the same plant at 75 days. ("late harvest"). The flavors on both are the same, with just better development, yield and potency on the late chop. However, for those that want to press your flower (or sift/bubble) into rosin, the early harvest came out much lighter and was less harsh and more enjoyable as a rosin. The lemon flavors predominate, with a hint of sweet skunk in the background owing to the Lemon Skunk genetics. Fabulous strain, easy to grow, drought and abuse tolerant (I...made a couple mistakes during the grow) and I can't wait to run her again this time paying more attention to details. Highly recommended if you can find it somewhere.

Phresh Cannabis

7/9/2022
I've been shopping at Phresh for several years now. I'm somewhat a snob...errr..."cannaseur" and was looking around for dispensaries that had rosin (a solvent-free extraction process that uses only heat, pressure and/or pure ice water, but nothing else). I found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow in Phresh. Solventless-lovers rejoice! On any given day, they have a selection of no less than 15 (often as many as 25) rosins from a variety of Oregon producers. All the big names: Happy Cabbage, Bo's Nose Knows, Highland, Echo, Forté and more. Pricing is average to better-than-average, with Saturdays being 20% off concentrates day--with a typical SHO setting you back $60-100 a gram, that day's savings add up. Their flower selection is well-displayed, with sample nugs from each jar displayed on its own little white dish in a display case. They have perhaps 25 flower strains in stock--not the largest selection, but their buyer knows excellent quality, and what flower is there is impressive. Regular names like Blue Dream and GMO pepper the selection, but many of their own cultivations feature prominently and all the bud looks like eye candy. The several samples I've smoked have all been excellent quality. Edibles---there's really something for everyone here. Cookies? Yep. Beverages? Uh huh. Gummies? Yeah, like so many it took me 5 minutes just to narrow down the wants and after 15 visits I still haven't run the whole menu of them... The store itself is small-ish, maybe 18x18 feet. But they make excellent use of the small space and their inventory is competitive, or exceeds, some of the larger stores in the area. The budtenders there are all great and Jordan (manager) is awesome. When I couldn't decide or needed some direction every one of them has been helpful and makes really great recommendations. Always a friendly smile there. Love that it's just a few minutes up the road from home.

Sundae Driver

6/9/2022
My experience is with Archive Extracts (Oregon) "Sundae Driver" 149-90µ Hash Rosin (solventless concentrate). I've consistently had good flower with this strain from a variety of farms. Not convinced Sundae Driver is a great strain for concentrates. Given the lineage, I was somewhat expecting to get "fruity-grapy-gassy". This entry from Archive isn't any of those. Crack open a fresh-bought container of black peppercorns. Stick your nose in there. Take a deep huff. Try not to snee... sorry too late. You smell that? That's beta-caryophyllene. Archive Sundae Driver smells EXACTLY like that jar. Anything fruity that may have existed in the flower has long been masked by the overpowering black pepper. Disappointed for the $75/gram sticker. The high was a decent mid-range---a little body relaxation but mostly just a feeling of wellness in the head. I ran a half day full of weekend chores, felt great the whole time, and then hit a couple more dabs and took a (successful) nap. Heading up or down, the effects were all great. But I just think Archive missed the mark here on what Sundae Driver is supposed to taste and smell like. Stick with flower on this one.

Kaleafa Cannabis Co. - Hillsboro

The bud tenders here tend to be helpful (some know the product more than others) but service has always been great and prices very reasonable for the particular product.

Golden Goat

This is a strain I keep coming back to time and time again. Syrupy sticky tropical flavors and an awesome energetic buzz keeps me doing the household chores grinning ear to ear. Great morning wake 'n bake strain pairs well with... Just about everything.

Puff Oregon

8/10/2019
Recently bought some weed ("Orange Crush") listed at "42%" THC. It was a gimmick. No way "Refrence Lab" (misspelling theirs, not mine) truthfully tested this stuff at "42%". Under a scope, looks identical to 25% weed and also smoked and felt like it. OK, but nowhere worth the label and the price. These guys seem to use shady testing labs that inflate their numbers. Given that cannabis has a theoretical photosynthetic THC production limit of about 37-38% (the plant can't actually produce more THC, because it would take more energy to produce than the plant would need to survive) 42% on the face is not even possible. Very expensive. They're clearly taking advantage of their location and charging high markups for very average weed. No menus on Leafly or that other lesser-used site that maps weed, so the only way to see the pricing is to swing in. I'll stick in town; these guys are nothing more than a cannabis tourist trap.

Banana Punch

7/5/2019
They're calling it "Purple Punch 2.0". I was lucky enough to stumble into a dispensary (not literally, as in stumbling stoned, figuratively as in happenstance) that had some in stock. Dense and relatively small green nugs look nothing like their Purple Punch parent, though there are a few bright orange pistils. Smoke was very smooth on my 18% sample and there was a hint of sweetness. Effects came on slowly, starting with notable headband/eye pressure which diminished over a few minutes to a general feeling of head heaviness. After 10-20 more minutes the headibess faded to a beautiful even body calm. Did some dishes and laundry with Dubstep playing in the background and enjoyed the chore. For me, I'd call this an "early evening" hybrid, with focus and mental clarity maintained but an overall sense of satisfaction that will improve any night with company.

Ringo's Gift

6/3/2019
Okay, I didn't really expect these results. First, I LOVE this strain. I'm currently vaping dry herb, 370-390*F, the 20:1 phenotype (23.4% CBD, 1.2% THC). Some background: I have lived my entire life with asthma. In the past 10 years, I don't think one day has gone by where I haven't needed to use my albuterol rescue inhaler at least once. We'll call it 7-10x per week. I had read encouraging information about CBD and lung health, and decided to start vaping it each day (my vaporizer holds about 1/4 gram, and that gives about 15 minutes' use until it's "used up" and no longer provides vapor). Three days after starting daily use, I noticed something: I hadn't used my rescue inhaler in three days. I kind of shrugged it off as a fluke, but did note the date. We're at 19 days now. I haven't reached for my inhaler once. My daily asthma attacks are GONE! This isn't some touchy-feely "I'm forgetting I'm using my inhaler"--it has a meter that reads out the number of puffs left. That number hasn't moved from 200 in 18 days. I'm a believer. No, I'm not "cured". I'm pretty sure if I stopped using Ringo's Gift, my daily asthma symptoms would return. But I'm also pretty sure Ringo's Gift is a lot healthier for me versus daily inhalations of Albuterol.

Cinex

Very light and cerebral strain. I've vaped and smoked it and the effects are similar. Very active and uplifting. Hit this one on a wake-and-bake and I'm ready to hop into the kitchen, take care of doing last night's dishes, cook some breakfast and hit a bunch of chores around the house. Avoid within a couple hours of going to bed or you may find yourself staring at the ceiling for a while. Great active strain!

Banana Cream OG

7/18/2018
Absolutely fantastic. I have generalized anxiety and due to some non-descript muscle tension, an always-sore left shoulder. I regularly use Blue Dream for cutting through the occasional panic attack, and my budtenders recommended I try Banana Cream. This strain "feels" exactly like Blue Dream, except that it additionally alleviates much of the muscle soreness. Very even and smooth buzz that keeps the brain functioning and productive but relaxes the tension and anxiety. Blue Dream lovers: this is like Blue Dream 2.0 and is definitely worth trying if you also have minor aches and muscle soreness.
