Pipe

A small device used to smoke cannabis, commonly made of glass, metal, wood, or other materials. Pipes come in all shapes and sizes, and are perhaps the simplest and most common method of consuming cannabis. A pipe has four main parts: the bowl, where cannabis is placed for combustion, the mouthpiece, where you draw in smoke, the chamber, which fills with smoke, and a carburetor, which allows you to control airflow (this is optional but found on a vast majority of pipes).

“Instead of cleaning out my pipe, I just got a new one.”

“The bowl on this new pipe lasts for days!”

How to use a cannabis pipe

Break up or grind your weed, and fill the bowl with the flower. Pack it into the bowl a little, but not so much so that you can’t draw air through. If there is a carb, cover it with a finger, then light the flower and inhale. You can control the airflow by covering and removing your finger from the carb.

If smoking with others, it is considered uncouth to “take all the greens,” meaning, lighting all the green flower in the bowl with the first hit. Make sure to leave some green flower showing for the next person to smoke.
