What is a Venturi chamber?
A Venturi chamber is a funnel-like section of a bong or pipe, which facilitates the Venturi effect of fluid dynamics, in which a fluid or smoke passing through a constricted section drops in pressure, cooling it.
In bongs or pipes, Venturi chambers usually have three holes that impede the flow of smoke, and once passed through the chamber, the smoke will spiral into a vortex. This has the benefit of cooling smoke, making hits smoother and easier on the lungs.
