Nyah Kiley was already a cannabis advocate before starting his own business and venturing into the medical marijuana industry. “As a medical patient myself, when pharmaceuticals weren’t helping and [were] making me physically feel worse, cannabis provided alternative ‘ReLeaf’ that changed my life,” Kiley recalls. After he had felt the personal benefits of cannabis use, he knew he needed to get involved and bring awareness to others.
Kiley remembers how at first, it was difficult to find products geared specifically toward certain conditions – and even harder to understand the differences between them with regards to effects and overall potency. This is why he and his team focus on patient education above all else. “We say education first, and we really do mean it,” he says. “I want to bring to my community a professional dispensary that makes it easier for patients to navigate those waters.”
Growing ReLeaf strives “to keep a wide range of items in stock,” but their priority is quality. The dispensary only purchases from vendors the team trusts and whose products they have tested themselves. “Once we find a good company to work with, we like to get as wide a range of their products in the store as possible,” says Kiley. “We also try to deal with Oregon-based and local companies first.” Cultivating close relationships with growers and producers lets Growing ReLeaf offer patients new products first, as well as exclusive deals.
Budtenders such as Janet Aylward and Malcolm King love to connect with visitors and share their knowledge and enthusiasm for the store’s wide range of products. New and returning customers of Growing ReLeaf should be especially sure to check out Siskiyou Sungrown’s cannabis extract oil, which Aylward calls “a game changer for so many.” Afterward, pay a visit to nearby Tualatin Hills Nature Park for a peaceful outdoor stroll, and on your way home, make a stop at nearby Canyon Grill for a Grand Canyon Burger and a classic milkshake.
In Kiley’s Words
Top selling product: “Purple Hindu Kush (formerly known as Jagermeister)…in both bud and pre-roll form.”
What is the surrounding neighborhood like? “We are located very close to…other small businesses, many of which specialize in health and wellness. Just across the street from us is Swagat, one of the top ranked Indian restaurants in the Portland area.”
What inspires you to come to work? “Employees and customers both agree we have a different health-focused and centered vibe. Our philosophy of education first as opposed to just ‘being in it for the money’ is something the employees take much pride in.”
Favorite strain or product? “We have the state’s largest variety of the brand Select‘s premium vaping cartridges for a reason.”
What Leafly Reviewers Say
Growing ReLeaf has become a fan “favorite” where the people are “genuinely kind” and the “prices are fair.” One customer claims, “This is easily the single best dispensary in the whole state!” If you are a medical patient you can expect to be “put to the front of line” and everyone is allowed to “pick up, smell, and examine strains” for quality. And don’t forget to ask about the dispensary’s special rotating deals and loyalty program!
