A noteworthy time where one can finally write a good review on “recreational cannabis” with all previous tries showing to have quality ranging from very poor to downright dangerous. Cannabis is a form of produce marked for human consumption, and yet many of the initial entries had chemicals not fit for human consumption; with some companies found to even be using banded pesticides etc. So I can personally now say that this FVOPA certified organic “Simply Bare” brand is; pure, well grown, pleasant smelling and most importantly safe for human consumption. Which means by proxy that the medical brand “Whistler medical Marijuana” which is also FVOPA certified, is also probably good. I am a licensed medical user and will be trying “Whistler medical marijuana” in due time, but in reality there should be no difference between medical and recreational cannabis strains and they should compete in the same market with the actual best and purest brands (Such as “Simply Bare”) rising to the top, seeing as how the sought after properties from the consumer, are the same across the board. While I have been forced to seek medical grade cannabis, this marks the first point in time where I have partaken of a ‘recreational brand’ and deemed it to be sufficient, and seeing as how cannabis has been legal since 2018, that is a pretty unfortunate thing (but fortunate that progress is being made in BC). I am sure there may be a few other good brands out there, but personally I will now be sticking to the brands that are FVOPA certified organic, or otherwise brands that have a proven medical use track record, personally tested. Not everyone can grow their own plants as in many living spaces, growing cannabis is prohibited. There should ideally be laws changed that allows for cannabis growth within a contained grow box to be permitted, but Canada has sure come a long way by even allowing people to grow four plants themselves. But for people whom have to buy, it is not civil or humane to only offer toxic entries into the market and expect them not to seek alternative medical grade sources instead. And offering toxic cannabis is no different than offering toxic broccoli or any form of produce marked for human consumption. So as aforementioned, Simply Bare is the first FVOPA certified organic entry into the market, and hopefully the start of many. -JM.
