Amsterdam Sativa

Bought the 1oz (28g) bag for about $110+tax at a local place on sale. The price was right but the bud is a big disappointment. If this is the result of being "Amsterdam"-related (in some way) and "organic" (whatever that means for recreational bud)....then I dont think it was really worth it.
The look/feel of the bud itself is a strong 7/10 (but that is not really relevant unless its really bad for some reason.) 
I don't find the effect to be strongly "sativa"...quite sedating actually. While I can see quite a bit of trichromes, you dont get much of any flavor from vaping or smoking it. Not a good variety for vaping, thats for sure. The only flavour I get from it is what I interpret to be caryophyllene (which I dont really know enough about to be sure of.) , which happens to be my least favorite terpene. 
Anyway, I got fooled by branding. I saw "Amsterdam" and "Organic" and I thought it must be good-quality bud...not the case. This "Amsterdam Sativa" is not even one particular strain in this brand, its just whatever they want to get rid of at the time that they are willing to call "sativa." It's passable for bottom-shelf rec. weed, but it does not live up to the branding and is not worth paying for a big bag.

I opened a bag of Highly Dutch's Amsterdam Sativa, all I could smell was hay. Having previous cannabis cultivating experience, the comes from improper air circulation and air temperature  during the drying/curing process. Even when I punched the buds, all I could smell was hay. When I smoked it, the smoke was harsh and flavorless. I bought it on Vancouver Island, after doing some minor research, I found this is grown in Ontario. Why any dispensary in BC, let alone the island, would sell Ontario grown weed is beyond me. I gave it 2 stars because it did burn clean, but that was a generous rating for sure. There are better options people! Demand it! Time to weed out the poor purveyors ( pun intended!)

I get a bargain for this flower since my L.P. charges me less for it [ including compassionate pricing ] than the local gov-mint rec outlets! But truth be told I'd gladly pay full legal price for this. It's one of my go-to's for treating arthritis , anxiety and injury pain relief. Considering it's an unidentified strain, sold 
 as a "generic" organic sativa, the consistency from lot-to-lot is high. So are the THC levels. (currently holding leftover grams from an ounce at 23.8 % and its replacement I will be ordering in a few days will be 24.0%) 
As for effect, my ECS [ endo-cannabinoid system ] receives it as a wake up call to begin "active" days, a term relative to and limited by my symptomology. Errands, minor chores are more energetic and fun with a blend of this strong sativa and something like a Black Cherry Punch or a touch of Wappa. A little goes  along way for me, since I avoid it after supper, relying on a good Indica to end my day. The alert, head-high that begins its effects make me both "sharper" and humorous and that can last for 3 or more hours at a good level. Body effects are more in the light relief zone as opposed to a heavier strain, but I just don't seem to care! The main advantage I get from it is that it tends to retain those positive mental effects even when "blended" with more body-active strains.
It's like the universal "type-O" of strains: it mixes with anything!
They also grow a high-THC organic Indica that's piqued my curiosity...
