From the extremely private breeder Capulator, we bring you a MAC experience unique to Breakwater. These rare seeds were mostly given to contemporaries, but CAP raffled off a few packs, and we happened to win one. Out of 15 seeds, we found a single keeper during our pheno hunt. MAC, or “Miracle Alien Cookies”, is most known for its abundance of trichomes, giving its buds a powdered sugar-coating appearance that glistens under light. It has a range of smells and flavors like citrus and sweet pine, with an earthy quality as well. Making its way to Breakwater from Terp Wizard, a Michigan regenerative farmer/caregiver, Strawberry Jelly is a cross of a Strawberry Pie mother pollinated by Grape Cream Cake f2 (both from Bloom Seed Co.). 

Terp Wizard selected the father of this cross for a few traits noticed early on, such as vigorous growth, good internodal spacing, and a stem rub that smelled exactly like its name, Grape Cream Cake. The appeal of the mother, Strawberry Pie (a cross of Strawberry Banana and Grape Pie Wedding Crasher), lay in her rich strawberry candy aroma, accented with a cheesy finish. The parents seemed like a natural fit and created offspring with a wide range of strawberry aromas, from strawberry menthol to strawberry and sour yogurt to strawberry kush.

Our flower phenotype, Strawberry Jelly #20, is astonishingly similar to our hash phenotype, delivering a healthy serving of sweet, slightly floral strawberry jam. Located almost halfway around the world on Hawaii’s “Garden Isle” of Kauai, Strawberry Cherry Pie originator, 808 Genetics, is an exceptionally versatile breeder with a repertoire that includes preserving older varietals, working classics into tantalizing new crosses, breeding with the latest cuts, and stabilizing genetics. A coveted Bay Area strain created by Jigga and PieGuy, Cherry Pie (Urkle x (F1 x Durban)), is a solid foundation on which to build any breeding project. As described by 808 Genetics themselves, Cherry Pie “has a terpene profile that is unmatched – a strong, sharp cherry aroma with a grape nag champa backend and notes of gas and pie crust.” The result of a prior breeding project that yielded both an eye-catching female flower producer and a studly male pollen provider, the Strawberry Runtz (Runtz x Strawberries and Cream F2) male eventually fathered its own line of seeds. As part of that lineup, Cherry Pie x Strawberry Runtz became known as Strawberry Cherry Pie.

True to its maternal lineage, Strawberry Cherry Pie is a plant of medium height that showcases deep green, purple-tipped flowers and tightly serrated fan leaves, making it a marvel to behold. The buds and sugar leaves are doused in resin and release a powerful wave of black cherry soda and tropical fruit punch that layers over unmistakable Cherry Pie aromas. Ghost Cookies 95 comes to us from the New England-based one-man army known as Green Team Genetics. He is a breeder who self-describes as passionate and focused, seeking to create unique-tasting strains using both classic and modern genetics in a small batch formula. His releases are limited, and once they are gone, they are gone! Because it has never been released to the public, we feel extremely fortunate to have been able to grow and share Ghost Cookies 95 with the patients of New Jersey.

A supremely vigorous plant, Ghost Cookies 95 has impressive vertical growth and branching. Before we knew it, these plants were towering over others that we previously thought substantial. Ghost Cookies 95 produces a healthy amount of foliage as well. Bud sites are littered up and down each branch, and although the buds are not the largest we’ve come across, they are on par for the lineage of this cross: Rawman’s Ghost Cookies x Top Dawg Genetics i95. The growth rate is superior to other Cookie lineages, and the structure screams GSC.  

Aromas of sweet lemon and dough akin to lemon cookies meld with an added punch of fuel and chemicals. Expect an uptick in energy and increased mood to go along with that sweet lemon flavor.
