Canna Cabana - Hamilton
Since 2009 we’ve been dreaming up spaces for Cannabis lovers to feel at home. As smokers ourselves, we were sick and tired of sketchy alleys leading to bargain basements that made us feel like we were doing something wrong. Canadians deserved something better, and so we opened our first Smoker’s Corner head shop in downtown Calgary that same year. Finally a bright, clean, welcoming place where marijuana enthusiasts could gather and geek out about cannabis culture – weed, bongs, pipes, vaporizers and our love of the plant! After legalization, we knew we wanted to bring that same vibe to selling Cannabis (man, sometimes we still can’t believe it’s finally legal).

The standard of practice followed by the talent acquisition team is poor. When I filled out my online application to Canna Cabana I choose my contact preference as email but did not receive one the next day. Instead I received a phone call from High Tide Inc. while at work which I found to be inconvenient. Due to company policy I am restricted from answering phone calls during work hence the reason I choose email as preferred method of contact to schedule an interview. Received 3 missed calls but no message, 2 calls at 10:30 am EST and 1 call at 11:30 am EST. The corporate office in Alberta begins at 9:00 am MST as shown on google which means the first two calls I received were 30 minutes before office hours. The caller Failed to provide a message for me to get back to them. My voice mail is never full and works just fine so I do not understand why professional phone etiquettes was not followed.
Getting back to the caller was another issue. Had to call HR around 5 times for someone to respond. The guy who answered the call lacked professional phone etiquettes as well. After I provided the job location to him, he ended the conversation saying "yeah, yeah" with an attitude before immediately connecting me to someone else. The lady he connected me to lacked the courtesy to introduce herself. She asked me to leave my contact info and someone would get back but have not received a response. Very strange attitude. Leadership is poor.

I am not one to normally write reviews, but after hearing about a recent complaint against Security, I feel compelled to do so as security and staff for that matter, are always kind and courteous and professional, even when having to deal with the most unruly of people, if not for the great security I would be honestly scared the way some people freak out from simply being told they have to wait in line (People being downright insulting, racist, threatening, and generally violent in nature) In my honest opinion the ones in charge of the business need to hire more staff to handle the volume of business they are receiving so there are not line ups all the time, and not listen to "Karens" complaining and appreciate the amazing job that the current staff and security do. I honestly will be taking my business elsewhere from now on as I cannot support a business that does not support their staff or security
