Chalice Festival Drops 2018 Lineup (Now With Onsite Consumption)
For the first time ever, Southern California’s cannabis-infused music and art festival Chalice will include on-site cannabis purchases and consumption. Festival planners announced this morning that the fifth annual event will happen on July 13-15, 2018, at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds in Victorville, California.
This year marks the first Chalice with legal cannabis sales and onsite consumption.
This year’s festival will be headlined by Bassnectar, Ludacris, Sizzla, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and Curren$y—alongside Pharcyde, Cut Chemist and Thriftworks. More musicians and artists will be announced in the weeks to come.
In the last five years, Chalice has quickly grown into the world’s largest glass, hash, art and music festival. Event founder Doug Dracup expects more than 45,000 attendees at this summer’s convergence.
“This year’s Chalice will make history in several ways,” Dracup said. “We’ve always been a leader, and we plan to lead by example at Chalice 2018. We know all eyes will be on us, and we have no doubt that we will set the bar for the future of legal cannabis and its relationship with music and arts festivals.”
After spending years on the music festival circuit as a fan, Dracup imagined a new kind of large-scale music and art festival, one that would also celebrate the artistry of glass pipe culture. He brought his vision to life with 5,500 attendees at Chalice 2014, and the ambitious event has since grown into one of Southern California’s largest cultural gatherings.
Dubbed “the Coachella of concentrates” by the San Francisco Chronicle, last year’s festival attracted 35,000 fans. Sensi Productions put together this highlight reel of Chalice 2017:
Top glass artists prioritize Chalice among their summertime bookings. This year’s featured artists include DWreck, Mothership, JD Maplesden, Mr. Gray and JAG x SALT and graffiti creatives like CBS Crew, Mark Dean Veca and Kenny Scharf, who often perform their craft live.
Chalice tickets are $105-$115 per day or $165 per three-day pass; VIP passes are $165-$185 per day or $325 for a three-day pass. NOTE: All festival goers must be 21 years or older, due to the onsite sales and consumption. Tickets and more information are available at chalicecalifornia.com.
