What is a stamen?
The stamen is the reproductive organ on male cannabis plants. It is made up of anthers, or pollen sacs, and filaments, which hold up the anthers. When a male plant matures, pollen sacs open and release pollen into the air.
Identifying stamen is useful when cannabis plants are young to determine if they are male. Generally, males are separated or discarded so as not to pollinate female plants, unless one is breeding plants or creating new strains.
