Afghani reviews
Read people’s experiences with the cannabis strain Afghani.
as a chronic user for disabling pain and Ptsd, this strain has genuinely made it to the top of my list on 3 hits. there is nothing wrong with this strain. it doesn't make me cough, the flavor is like a smoky old friend, woody and gentle. I was stressed from a long work day and in lots of pain and I've melted into a relaxed pile of goo ready for sleep. and not the green out goo, just relaxed goo.
Incredible "original", non- hybridized strain that delivers a euphoric, pain-free and psychadelic experience.
This is one of the "true OG" strains used for hashish, and is a go- to for me now.
This strain delivers a Much cleaner high for me than most hybrids.
The taste is delightful - pine/woody flavor.
This is a great one to have in nature or mellow indoor environment, as the effects are best enjoyed where one can completely give in to the paychadelic/spiritual effects.
Great for listening to music, contemplating life, art, journaling, etc...
Review is based on the organic outdoor grown strain from Mayhew Organics (New Mexico). @mayhew
The mayhew is low THC (19%) but also low CBD. Comes on strong and full effects are present in 30 minutes for me.
Highly recommended.
As a huge indica fan in a state where truly quality indicas are few and far between, I jumped on this strain as soon as I saw it despite the fact that it was mids. Pure indicas, much less famous landraces, do not show up here often.
Jar appeal was decent. Tiny nugs but absolutely covered in dense orange pistils and a thick dusting of amber trichs… told me right there it was gonna annihilate body pain, and I was right.
Very spicy, woodsy, herbal scent close to cedar or tobacco. A VERY unique smell that I wasn’t expecting. Taste is the same. I live with a cigar enthusiast, and smoking this strain is exactly like what some aromatic, expensive cigars smell like before they’re lit and become horrible. Don’t tell him I said that.
The first night with this strain, I was slapped in the head and face with the heaviest, tingliest, giggliest high. It was ridiculous. I watched Peacemaker and laughed until I cried, then I pestered my brother and my dog like a teenager who had her first margarita. It was great. I do not get to that level with flower alone anymore, at 21% (which is quite good for an indica) I was not expecting that. Terpenes are real, science bitch!
It’s been a few days and my brain has gotten more used to the strain. I have not gotten that head high since then. I feel it in my face for sure, and get some bloodhound eyes going, but I actually am extremely clear-headed. Again, a very unique experience that feels hard to describe. It’s one of those highs that trick you into thinking you could drive safely.
But what it did most for me, that can’t be overstated, is get rid of my body pain. For months I’ve been having that kind of agonizing, shooting pain in my shoulder joints that doctors have thrown NSAIDs, muscle relaxers, and opiates at while they try to figure out the problem. None of it helps more than 1-2 hours at a time, and as hard as it is to live with being in pain constantly, it’s outright impossible to live life completely gone on a combination of all those pills. I can’t sleep 16 hours a day and then spend the waking time sitting there in a stupor. All while not being able to poop. Good times.
And funnily enough this is where Afghani comes in hot a second time. I picked this up for insomnia after taking a hiatus from all the meds. But because it focuses so much on a body stone, and cerebral effects are much clearer, it actually doesn’t make me sleepy at all. It’s a unicorn indica strain that I can smoke literally first thing in the morning and all day/night long if I needed to, and it does not make me sleepy whatsoever.
For a powerful painkiller strain, that’s usually a side effect you have to make peace with! Relaxed, yes, calm and easygoing, definitely. Sleepy like an Ambien? Not even close. I can function while not having pain, and it’s hard to find an indica like that.
The genetics in Afghani are incredible. I’m getting ready to start my grow journey and this strain will be a permanent fixture in my house if I can get my hands on some good beans.
When it comes to cannabis, not many strains have the ability to treat my insomnia and put me to sleep, but Afghani is one of the few strains that works every time I smoke it. My current batch is a little harsh, but still does its thing. Relaxation settles in after the first hit, and the heavy eyes follow soon after. Once I finish a bowl, I just wait for the yawning 🥱 to begin before drifting off to sleep. It's better than Benadryl, which is usually my only other option.
I'm 62 years old. Probably only smoked pot 20 times prior to growing my own never cared for it.. It is now legal in NY to grow. Someone gave me a plant and I'm a Gardner. It has been the most fun I have had growing anything. Including corals in my reef tank. To the point since I'm high. This strain I now smoke on a daily basis any muscle tightness or arthritis is gone. I can now walk several miles a day with no discomfort. Will probably start playing pickup soccer again. Special thanks to this sight on all the growing advice . It's only the end of June in NY my current plant I'm growing is already 7ft high by nearly 4ft. Just bought a 50 gallon pot to transplant into.
Love this original old skool strain. Such a rush of flavor and smells amazing and puts you in right frame of mind. Very hard to find so I scored a 1/2 Oz of beautiful nugs with a 25-27 % THC test score. Super fresh and stinky sticky Nugs. If you find this strain and love OG lushes…buy it as it disappears quickly here in Denver. Highly recommend if you love old skool strains.
Diz Da Shiznit! I couldn’t agree more with everyone else’s experiences and reviews of this dope strain! Cherish this gift from nature and blaze it up with da homies. This bud is one good buddy who always brings me to reason while brushing off all of my negative and stressful feelings and emotions. Blaze one up!
