Chocolope reviews
Read people’s experiences with the cannabis strain Chocolope.
One of my top 5 favorites! At first I didn't want to try it because budtenders kept telling me there was cannalope haze in it's lineage. But I was misunderstanding & thinking they were saying cantaloupe haze - and cantaloupes make me sick to my stomach. Then I met a cool-cat at Altitude Dispensary in Pasco, WA (I think) who set me straight. He suggested this cut from Gabriel Cannabis (a bit pricey....but SOOO worth it!) A Chocolatey coffee, & citrusy extravaganza! This strain is not for those whom hate a racing heart. Chocolope peps you up & keeps you going. As it wears down, it takes it easy. Many sativas will knock you down as hard as they juiced you up once they reach their finish. Chocolope lets you down easy. It's cheerful & creative & will brighten your entire day!
Let me preface this review with a little contextual backstory: My old psych noticed I had adverse reactions to everything she prescribed me, so she had my genes tested to see what was up.
It turns out, my genetics have produced in me an interesting specimen whose body can't properly metabolize most pharmaceuticals on the market.
There's not a single anti-depressant that's safe for me, only two safe opioids, only two safe anti-anxiety meds... The "Danger! Do Not Use!" column under the opioid results contained literally everything that doctors typically prescribe for pain...
You get the drift: My body is weird and does weird things that other bodies most likely don't do when exposed to different chemicals.
I don't know if genetics has anything to do with how our bodies process cannabinoids.
I just wanted to make sure you know that my review is my own personal experience that might also be rather unique.
So here goes: This strain had my skin feeling like it was going to crawl off my body and out the front door. I didn't realize it, but it started off light. Only in this case "light" means "That's weird; my hands and arms are tingling and my heart is pounding."
It steadily and rapidly got worse and worse until my heart was pounding out of my chest, I was hyperventilating, and I was scared I was about to hit the floor.
I honestly can't believe this is listed as being helpful for anxiety. The effects I experienced felt like one of the worst anxiety attacks I've ever gone through.
I'm also not going to be able to sleep for hours to come.
I've never had such an unpleasant experience with a strain of cannabis.
After my stepbrother quit smoking, he told me it was because he'd gotten ahold of some that made him feel like he was having a heart attack and it put him off green for good.
At the time, I thought he was just being dramatic.
Now that I've tried Chocolope, I no longer doubt him.
I have insomnia, anxiety, chronic back pain, depression, and a few other things wrong with me and I honestly can't think of a single thing this strain would help me with.
This doesn't feel like cannabis to me.
This feels like a strain for someone who wants to experience Adderal without actually doing Adderal.
Or, if not Adderal, perhaps a different stronger Upper.
Whatever comparison fits best, the fact remains: These effects do not feel like cannabis to me.
And again: I fully admit that this could very well just be my weird body doing weird things to me with this, but that's my experience with this strain and it was in no way a good one.
While the strain is high in THC, this strain actually made me more anxious and caused my heart to race. NEVER AGAIN!!
Brand: Cresco
Form: Live sugar
THC: 75%
I love this strain so much. Easily top five favorite sativa's the taste alone is enough to keep you coming back for more. Even the clear energetic high it provides is amazing. Very euphoric and not overwhelming energetic.
This strain works amazing for my migraines and my depression.

Very potent sativa. You can actually smell and taste a hint of chocolate. Very focused and energetic. If you have chores, activities or anything requiring focus and energy this strain is for you! 1st time dry herb vaped only about 3 hits and had a very nice change in attitude. Knocked out my fatigue from a long days work, put me in a 'zone' for the tasks I had set for myself after work. After everything was done I found even more tasks to knockout due to the pain being mostly forgotten about in my back and the surplus of energy I was given. I love a good sativa and this one here knocks Jack herer off his thrown of best sativa for me.
Chocolope is an AMAZING strain, the mental high takes hold of you quickly and smoothly morph you in an altered way of thinking. It’s well suited for daytime high as it barely have a body high and greatly acute focus, energy and creativity. The emotional high and general sense of well-being greatly help me with anxiety and panic attacks making it one of my favorite strain.
P.S; Avoid smoking too much, it may cause feelings of paranoia (and we all know it does not fit well with anxiety).
Stage 1: Stoned, Stone faced, Numb Skull –– This strain comes in like a little creeper. It took about 10 minutes to kick in. I smoked it from some King size and regular size Elements pre-rolls. The first stage involves your entire head feeling numb. It's a very 'heady' strain but not necessarily cerebral, as you would feel after smoking a more pure sativa like Panama Red.
Stage 2: The active phase. I was talking (to myself) a lot and pacing around my condo like a madman. It's (sort of) like the same feeling you'd get from a cup of coffee only less coherent.
Stage 3: The munchies. I ended up making myself a huge breakfast about 30 minutes after smoking this.
Stage 4: The giggling stage, right before you fall asleep. This stage made me happy with this strain because this "effect" is exactly what I'm looking for. The euphoric "everything's funny" stage. I had a great time watching videos on YouTube with funny dialog.
The smell and taste is pretty faint. It had the faint citrus smell. It did get a little harsher as I got further and further down the pre-roll. It also had a very faint, smooth, chocolate smell and taste. Overall I'd say this is a good strain to pick up.
I picked this strain up from Canopi and it was $220 + tax for an ounce.
