Colombian Gold reviews
Read people’s experiences with the cannabis strain Colombian Gold.
overall 10/10
Back in the day there were 7 colors of gold. From bright yellow to a goldish color. Tastes and affects varied. The yellowish gold made you laugh your ass off and tasted like sweet candy. Take a toke and it expanded like a bomb,, you coughed your ass off.. The strains nowadays are a pale comparison.
amazing flavor, amazing body high. all potent planet is gas!
The real Colombian gold/red/black seedless strains from the 70's were the best weed i've ever smoked! A pinhead joint would get 3 peeps super high for hours! You really didn't need to smoke much because it was so potent!! None of the weed today even comes close!! It was $60 bucks an oz. back then, & worth every cent! The seeded buds were not much cheaper, but you had to know the look & smell of the good stuff, because there were lots of dirt weed around claiming to be it, but were bunk as hell. The black dealers had the best, then the berkeley hippies, the mexicans mostly had dirt weed! Only one other strain was it's equal, the kick ass opiated/chocolate Thai Sticks!! These all disappeared when Humboldt County Indica started taking over, then came Hydroponics & 100's of Hybrids! The weed today is potent, but the highs are short lived, where as you have to smoke continually to maintain the high. I wish i had kept those real Colombian seeds.👍👍👌👌✌✌
I am assuming this strain is extinct at this point, and I am writing this review as an homage.
--- My circle of Deadheads obtained a 1/4 pound of genuine Colombian Gold way back in 1991. It went for $40/quarter, as a charity.
1 hit. It was your friend, it made everything better. You were alive, and you knew it. It was brilliant and it lasted for 4 hours per hit.
Outdoor, is the way to go, and I hope, the wave of the future.
I miss it.
I would consider myself an "old school" connoseur and Columbian Gold was and is my all-time favorite strain.
After the third hit, your lungs would expand so much you could never hold it, cough your head off and get wicked "crimson eyes".
Bring it back and Panama Red.
Another old timer here, Dead Head - we were able to get Columbian gold in 1969- 70 in the SF Bay Area - it was certainly one of the finest weed of the times...it is sorely missed. I would hope that it could be grown again in its native environment....the other strain of that era, fondly know to go well with acid and the Dead, was a sweet green Oaxacan, and we need to add Michoacan as another distinct Sativa from that era...
Colombian Gold is a light, tasteful (lemon, earth) Sativa. It clarifies the mind, boosts productivity by a considerable margin, and doesn't numb your body too much.
I've been smoking sativas my whole life. Usually I get Paraguayan sativas, whose effects differ quite a bit from this strain, the "Colômbia", as goes its street name in São Paulo. While the former, besides energizing, can also be very numbing and sleep inducing towards the comedown bit, the same does not apply to the latter, in my case.
Colombian Gold, smoked in moderation, will lift you up, boost your productivity considerably while also clarifying thoughts and providing a light cerebral relaxation. It does not, however, relax the body's muscles as powerfully as its Paraguayan counterpart would, for instance.
For me, Colombian gold is a tasty, social/work strain. It's a stimulant that goes well with coffee and does not keep you from your daily goals. I find that this strain in particular is not very strong, with light to moderate effects that don't last very long. It provides a nice buzz, and may be effective in bettering mood and spirit (think quarantine type scenarios).
