This is one of my favorite strains. Similar in head/body high to Tangie, the bright tropical notes and crisp hit of citrus combine to deliver a euphoric and energetic high. Great for creatives or those looking for need to focus and reflect, Maui Wauwi is a clear winner in the Sativa market

This strand made me trip so hard I couldn't take a shit but after that it was one of my best trips, also had a great taste.

I’ve been on a bit of a tropical themed run here as of late, and Maui Wowie, often seen as Maui Waui, adds to this ongoing motif. After enduring a month in frigid Chicago and getting to know the term polar vortex well, I’ve been spending as much time under the palm trees of SoCal as possible. It isn’t the taste, but the spirit of this strain that makes me think of warm, sunny beaches and bathing suits. These buds were lumpy and long and markedly sticky. This is no surprise since an abundance of cloudy amber-colored late harvest trichromes can be seen across the nuggets. Maui Waui is a ginger lady, and orange hairs stick out like cowlicks. It wasn’t the look but the the scent of this strain that sold me in the dispensary. Diving your nose into the jar grabs thick wafts of pine and lemon cleaner, similar to Chemdawg strains, but sweet like Super Lemon Haze. There is also a minimal baking spice aroma as well that comes through in a big way in the aftertaste. The smoke is thin and not expansive, making medicating a pleasurable after thought. I love a flavorful strain, and this is as fragrant and tasty as they come. Popular among the hippy crowds in California during the late sixties, Maui Waui was an early high THC plant, desired for its potency and uplifting sativa high. I place it in a category of what I like to call brain strains: sativas so erudite and sophisticated that they make you more capable. I love to work on strains like this, since they pique your creativity, expand your imagination, and enhance your problem solving. With no noticeable indica effects, strains like Maui Waui will drive your productivity and are exceptional daytime, mid-week highs. Like Hawaiian, this strain conjures images of salt spray and a warm sunset in it's enticing, relaxing effects. Fruity on the exhale, the smoke is smooth and pleasant. Preferred through a normal pipe, though bubblers help break through resistance. The effects seem beguilingly mild through the lens of my very high tolerance. This is simply a lack of awareness to the myriad effects I've noted. Euphoria and stress relief are the two most obvious, but the subtle tinting of everything I see in a pink/purple hue and slight weightlessness really buoy the experience. Happiness is either the result or an individual effect, but it's there as well and quite lovely to boot.

Obtained at @SPARCcannabis in SF. Used their onsite volcano to vaporize a small chunk. Fruity tasting, sweet aroma that reminds me of sipping a sour ale a little bit. Energetic high. Sustained me on an hours-long, crosstown bicycle ride from one side of the city to the other, with lots of hills, on an empty stomach no less. A little bit of dizziness though. Definitely a workout enhancer. Need to try it out on a 3-5 mile run. Not a conversation blocker, but will get you sort of babbling a bit. Impedes reading a little, but doesn't seem to get in the way of writing quite as much. This stuff definitely gives you the urge to be active and physical over sedate and cerebral. Noticeable dry mouth for the first hour or so. Got rid of that with some fancy organic mandarin oranges from a food co-op and a few sips of water.

I have been smoking this strain for the last week or so.. And I must say, I have found myself VERY happy after I smoke a joint or a couple of bowls. Can't wipe the grin off of my face and it tends to give me the giggles. I must say it's officially one of my favorite strains now.. I keep repeating Dave Chapelle on Half Baked "MAUI WAUI"..
