So good!!
If you've read my past reviews, I try to be specific to the strain, where it's genetics came from and my experience using and growing them. This review is for SFV OG Kush and my lower than average rating isn't because I find bad samples of this strain, it's because this strain is very difficult to cultivate consistent good samples and is a very hard strain to grow for the more experienced grower that is willing to take a risk of failure. It's a 5 star strain to use but a 1 or 2 star strain to grow with success. If you are only interested in it's use than please skip down to USE or read it all if you want info on growing and why my overall rating is not 5 stars.
USE; This is an indica dominant strain in all categories. It's effects are not uplifting but they are also not the strongest either, which even though not my personal choice, I can see why it is so highly rated, especially for less experienced users. It's all subjective and one of the wonders of this plant. You could say this is a good all day indica and not just for later day use like most strong indicas. It's not the smelliest strain but I have seem a lot of inconsistency here that could be caused by the drying/curing process. The taste is also not strong with an earthy taste. This strain is unique in it's appearance as they are some of the densest nuggets I have ever seen. With the naked eye they appear to have little trichomes but under a microscope there are plenty and a good sample rates high in the three rating categories. The interior of the flowers are normally very light in color with hardly any green to them because I don't think much light penetrates them. I personally like that as I think it makes the smoke smoother from the lack of chlorophyll in a majority of the bud.
GROW: OUTDOORS; I obtained the seeds direct from Cali Connection, germinated 3 and picked the best pheno, which seemed pretty consistent except for plant size and yield. This review is specific to growing outdoors where it is near impossible to grow in any high humidity environment because the buds are extremely dense and seem to have no mold or mildew resistance in them at all. My experience is along the west coast around 35*N latitude in the area's considered "Ocean Grown"(the real meaning of OG) where humidity can get high in the fall from coastal fog and rain and in the Midwest around 42*N where the humidity is consistently high with rain and dropping temps. If this plant gets rained on in the second half of flowering for any length of time an it isn't dried out with immediate early to mid day sunshine for the rest of the day, it will mold and mildew and be ruined. Even covered in a greenhouse, you can get similar problems if the humidity is high and the temps are low. I have yet to attempt a indoor grow because it is in an area with high humidity year round, even in an inside grow room and the risk reward isn't enough for me to risk it, but everyone is willing to take different risks and the 5 star reviews and it's awards are not untrue, as I have seen some excellent samples of this strain, but I have also heard a lot of similar experiences to mine. One other thing that doesn't make this good for some growers, especially if quantity is an issue for you, is that it is and indica dominant grower with very short stout plants that yield high density but a lower volume. INDOORS; I've only grown the three original plants to maturity in smaller pots and a very low humidity environment because of the small size of the room. Have not attempted a full grow and mentioned the reasons why. Overall as a strain it is 5 star if you find a nice sample but as a strain to grow yourself, I would recommend many other stains that are just as good with far less risk of failure unless you live in a dry environment like a desert in southwest US or other similar areas of the world like Spain, Australia or in an indoor environment with very good humidity control that can keep it consistently low throughout the flowering cycle.

LOVED the strain, had an insane head high and made me feel a lot less anxious and depressed. Only gripe i have about this strain is the paranoia (its pretty high on the paranpia stat). I was just vibing and watching tv until I heard a fire alarm and freaked for a good 30min fiddling with my fire arm, turns out my alarm was fine and it was just the show on tv lmao. The paranoia kinda looms over you a little bit, but overall the experience was very fun and definitely gave my anxiety a beat down. Id suggest just avoiding things that could potentially make you axnious such as work or other responsibilities. 4/5
Good taste good thicc buds
If you’re the type of person who enjoys lazy Mondays. Snacks in bed, binge watching Netflix all day, while knocking out a few naps. This is definitely the strain for you! I smoked about a gram joint for my wake n bake, and never left the room. This is truly an amazing strain. Also, Anyone dealing with body aches or pain, and just need bed rest to cope through it, I’d highly recommend it for you too. It’s great.
Super duper frosty darker nuggets that hit you hard. This shit puts me on my ass great night strain. If smoking in daytime it’s a nice chill out sit around feel. Great for pain eases the mind too
