Durban Poison reviews
Read people’s experiences with the cannabis strain Durban Poison.
Durban Poison is the definition of a daytime delight. I’ve tried countless strains, but this one stands out like no other. From the first inhale, a wave of pure clarity and energy hit me, like drinking the perfect cup of coffee but without the jitters. It’s my go-to for productivity—whether it’s tackling a long to-do list, working on creative projects, or simply enjoying a hike outdoors.
What I love most is how it sharpens my focus without overwhelming me. The euphoric uplift it provides is unmatched, and it has been an incredible ally in managing stress and staying motivated. If you’re a fan of clear-headed highs that keep you energized and engaged, Durban Poison is a must-try. Whether it’s kicking off your day or staying sharp through a busy afternoon, this strain delivers every single time.
My friend I were completely Durbanized via the Poison. We had so much fun. She was visiting and had the opportunity to smoke after a long hiatus. She eats gummies because she and her mom and young son live together and her mom doesn’t know she smokes so she stayed LIT while with me. Being Durbanized is an overall spectacular feeling. We laughed and walked aimlessly all over the city having a great time with no care about time and lasting effects of good energy. It didn’t give me the coughs but it did her and we chalked that up to coming out of OG retirement and being overly excited. Neither one of us had munchies and in fact we didn’t have an appetite at all. We made charcuterie boards daily so we could nibble because we had to soak up all the champagne that paired quite nicely with Durban. That combo produced stupid belly aching laughter. It’s definitely worth trying and I’d suggest getting outdoors for a better experience.
My number 1 go to sativa. Pure sativa. Could cause anxiety. But it has a taste and buzz like none other. It's in high demand and right now there's one brand growing it in Illinois and they sellout in 2 days. It's 60 an 8th and I'd pay it all day long. Never lower than 28% . Great for daytime. Now the other crosses of this strain aren't as good. White Durban, Durban zkitlez, blue dream....aren't nearly as good. Only sour durban( sour diesel x durban) is worth it I think. If you like sativas, you'll love this. If you like one of a kind buzz...you'll like this....if you like weed....try it. You won't be disappointed
I got this strain in a pre roll to try before the gym. To test it out at home I took about 5 hits from it and it gave a really nice uplifting high , I had so much fun just cleaning and making dinner / meal prepping. I felt focused and energetic, after an hour and a half I started to feel tired , I’m not sure if that was the high tapering off or I was just tired and it was 9 at night by this time. I think this would be a good strain before the gym but not 5 hits from it, I think 2-3 would be a great to lock into a workout and have some extra fun with it. I have ADHD and anxiety and it didn’t make racing thoughts worse at all!!! I am very careful with sativas bc some make my thoughts race and I feel like I can’t breath. But this didn’t do that at all. I felt mentally a bit calmer actually but my body just felt like it had more energy and I could direct my mental energy more easily instead of feeling as scattered as I usually do.
I love this strain. I am mainly an indica-hybrid guy, but i love this pure African Sativa when I know I have things to get done. Wake-and-Bake wonder, lifts my spirit soaring, visual, tingly, great with music in the morn (or anytime). Puts me in a positive state of mind for hours, making household chores fun, gives me energy without mad anxiety. A hall of Fame strain, and it's the sativa in many of my fave hybrids. My fave of the pure African Sativa landraces strains.
This strain does not check all the boxes, medically, for me. But holy hell there is nothing better for my MDD than Durban Poison. The taste is like grass, so nothing stands out in the flavor category, but the effects make this one of my Mount Rushmore strains. I instantly feel uplifted, and then it brings a clean energy while my breathing noticeably slows down. I feel like I am getting twice the oxygen to my lungs, and my ability to focus on a project for work is on-point. This is the ultimate working strain if your job requires sustained attention or even “thinking outside the box”. In smaller doses, the positive effects of treating my depression and ADHD are still there, and nobody can tell I am medicated. The only negative is this does nothing for my chronic joint pain, but I don’t care. I can accept the pain while using it.

Recently got my first ever Durban- taste after my 30+-yr diligent search for her — in the form of T-91.78% oil cartridges — & she does.not.disappoint! Personally, I like to vape during daytime for the crystalline high w/no back- side stoner effect to ruin second half of day, so strictly-sativa– Durban Poison could be considered the ideal daytime strain for a lesser-pain'd, yet energized & highly productive day — she's the real deal, 5+-star beautiful African boogie !
Are you strong enough to be her man¿ asks Sheryl Crow ;) ☮️
Hands down the absolute best strain I've ever seen, tried, or heard about. Highly unmistakable aroma wafts your senses instantly. It's smell and taste will forever be the bar to which all others are judged. It's effects are just as vibrant and alive as your nose led you to believe. This is no couch-lock cannabis. This is a great scenario for projects, creativity, nature, and pretty much anything you enjoy, or even things you don't necessarily enjoy. After trying it all so you won't have to, since 1990, I prefer to exclusively fill my parameters with Durban Poison, when I can find it. DP is a 100% Sativa plant. So because Sativas grow larger and yield less flower than Indicas, many farmers are less likely to pursue it. Unfortunately. Those that do, please thank them for me.
