ECSD reviews
So I picked up some ECSD at Highwire Farms in Adrian, Michigan. Grown by Grand Crossing. I've been smoking since high school in 1998 and Sour Diesel is an obviously legendary strain, which means there's a lot of stuff that's proclaimed to be Sour D that isn't, but I was pleasantly surprised by this cut of ECSD. I think it's the real thing, the terps are exactly as I've always heard Sour Diesel described - grapefruity diesel/gas fumes mixed with lemony nail polish remover fumes, turned up to 11; just citrusy and gassy AF, strongly suggesting the Chem Dog lineage popularly ascribed to the original Sour D from the 90s and 2000s. It tastes like citrus gas when I smoke it and it brings the strongest aftertaste of sour patch kids. I love the terps and the taste, but the high is what has established this ECSD as my favorite strain, ever; sativas are my first love in cannabis, and this ECSD absolutely blows my head off in the most stony and psychedelic way...yet the ECSD also brings this sense of zenlike calm, where I'm totally fine with how stoned I am. A lot of strong sativas are racy but ECSD is not; in my experience it doesn't even increase my heart rate. It's just the perfect sativa high IMO, it's strong & stony, psychedelic, peaceful and zen-like, and it lasts for hours. More companies need to be growing the ECSD in legal states, it's a legitimate contender to be one of the greatest sativas ever.
Skunk #1 shaped nugs with a forest lime and forest green nugs pink and amber hairs, completely covered with Trichs. a mix of slight cabbage structure with the substance of a chem strain making it fluffy but in the best of ways. Colas smaller at the base bulbous through the middle and tapered at tip the sometimes has beautiful foxtailing that it is well known for. For those who grow it can put off 3-4 lbs per 1000w hps. Along with Chem it is the stankiest strain I have had the luck to smoke. Lemon skunk diesel chemical funk with a slight spice. Perfect for summer days hanging out with the friends. one of the strongest super sativas if not the strongest, maybe second to super silver diesel but way better imo. It has that perfect vibe. Not to be confused with EVERY other cut of Sour D. This is not just far better but the origin of all the others. If you were lucky enough to have had it grown In Western MA then you know how special this strain is.

I was surprised at just how good the buds looked. I had never tried "Real" SD but had heard plenty of good things about it from older family members. I finally got my hands on some and the buds looks really good and were really sticky (I got the budget smalls but they still felt just as fresh and sticky as most decent big buds). Smell is VERY gassy, pine and kinda citrusy. Very loud and the taste is good. The diesel hits hard but its a good hit. The effects are really strong and you can start feeling them relatively quickly. The high is overall good and two regular sized blunts lasted me an entire evening which is good considering what I paid. I personally I wouldn't enjoy it regularly as this is a SATIVA SATIVA, and I'm more of a couch locked, half comatose indica guy. This had me really social and full of energy with a quiet come down. A good flower if you're into these type of strains.
This strain REALLY helps me with getting shit done. It either allows me to focus on something I need to do, or has me sitting/laying down for hours playing a video game. The only downside is it makes me cough like a bitch, but it's worth it.
One of my favorite terpene profiles. Nice smoke; made me mellow. In combination with a cannabis beverage! Easing into the new week… Would recommend this strain. Who doesn’t ❤️ a good diesel?!
Super uplifting,happy and stress relieving.
East Coast Sour Diesel??? Yes, please! My favorite. It’s a morning, afternoon, and early evening medicine extraordinaire! I can always count on ECSD to motivate me while instilling a sense of calmness and energy - in balance, with very nice mood lifting effects. Some people seem to be mentioning paranoia. While I have not experienced it, being that sativa is involved, it is a known effect.
For me, it is incredibly reliable for controlling nerve pain, fibromyalgia, and other types of pain - without dulling the senses. (overconsumption can take you to a state of spaciness and lacking motivation)
For most people, I would not recommend ECSD as a late night medicine. I don’t find it sleepy, nor do I find it speedy. It’s a bright, clear, beautiful, and balanced feeling.
If you need help with nausea/ appetite, I recommend it for that as well. You can definitely get hungry with ECSD, so, if you can, try to keep plenty of delicious and healthy snacks on hand.
I can enjoy going out without feeling any social anxiety and have a great time,or stay in while relaxing and calmly getting things done, listening to music, reading, contemplation, writing, sketching, painting, or other creative endeavors.
This one just has so much going for it. I love, love, love it. It’s on the very top of my list, and I wouldn’t change a thing about it.
PS - Just wanted to note that I have also tried the D8: D9 version of ECSD and I do not recommend it for those who love the traditional strain of this. I am NOT a fan as I found it too mild for my tolerance, and besides, why mess with perfection? To me, the D8: D:9 felt akin to ECSD “lite”.
The effects of this strain hit instantly, very calming high that blocks out any negative/anxious thoughts.
