Blue Dream

2/24/2026
Blue Dream - a GOAT strain. This cut smells like blueberry with extra candy sweetness, like blueberry-flavored Sweet Tarts candy (if there was such a thing) with a little bit of that familiar earthy/herbal dankness (aka the myrcene musk) that you always get from Blueberry strains. Tastes like Sweet Tarts with the sour tartness of raspberry, and it's one of the best highs in all of cannabis. I think of the Blue Dream high as a strong euphoria and dreaminess of body and mind that's great for relaxing.

MAC

2/24/2026
So I've been enjoying the MAC from Lume in Michigan and it's not hard to see why this strain was such a big hit when it first came out back in 2020 and 2021. For starters, MAC has some of the densest trichome coverage I've ever seen; the trichomes are so dense that even under a magnifying glass, they look like they were poured on the nugs as a liquid glazing. The only strain I've seen with denser trichome coverage is the Miracle Mints, which is an outstanding outcross of MAC. It smells nice, a strong orange/minty smell that smells exactly like Orange Tic Tacs; tastes the same on inhale and aftertaste. I love the buzz of MAC - it's a strong and stony buzz of mind and body that's great for music, I love to put on my headphones and get lost in Mozart and Bach with the MAC.

Super Silver Haze

2/24/2026
Super Silver Haze has quickly become one of my all-time favorite sativas. From Hillfire in Ohio (purchased at OCC in Piqua), the nugs smell like sweet metallic terpinolene; sometimes a citrus note comes through. Tastes the same, it is so cool to smoke weed that tastes like sweet metal. And it's an energizing, electric, euphoric high up-front that changes into a relaxed and thoughtful high. This is a daytime sativa but it's not my favorite to smoke if I'm working or hiking, etc. because it's more stony, dreamy, and euphoric; this is a peerless strain for chilling during the day, like if you went fishing or to a concert. It's a fantastic strain for playing the guitar, or any musical instrument. I love the SSH and I have to make myself not smoke it every day, it's that good.

Apple Pie

2/24/2026
So I've been enjoying this cut of outdoor Apple Pie from Oceana Gardens in Michigan. It has some interesting parent genetics; Acapulco Gold is a legendary strain of the 60's and 70's, and a Nepalese landrace sativa is rumored to be one of the parents of Chem Dog. It smells of green apple and cinnamon; smells like hot apple pie when it burns, and it's got a nice euphoric & cerebrally-stony high. I like the Apple Pie on its own but when I roll joints of half Apple Pie, half Pineapple Express, they're some of the tastiest joints I've ever smoked.

Donny Burger

2/9/2026
So I've got a cut of outdoor Donny Burger from Heads in Michigan and I am very impressed. The nugs are dark green, extremely dense, and it reeks of grilled hamburger & spicy beef jerky. There's a lot of exotic weed out there now but who ever heard of weed that smells and tastes exactly like a burger? And it's everything - the charred meat, the savory juiciness, the spicy garlic pepper, and the unmistakable sweet smell of carmelized onion. There's also a taste of peppery beef jerky that comes through, I love beef jerky so I am in hog heaven with the Donny Burger. This strain is such an incredible evolution of GMO, and it also harkens back to its grandfather in Chem D. It has the taste of GMO in it, but it doesn't taste like GMO because it's completely different and there's so much more going on; it hits harder than any cut of GMO I've ever seen, it hits more like grandpa Chem D. You get hints of GMO and Chem D the smell, taste, and effects (heavy indica sedation). Was this strain created in memory of Donny from The Big Lebowski? I like to think so. But in any event, the Donny Burger abides. More like Danky Burger.

Deep Breath

2/9/2026
The Deep Breath from Lume is a complex one. The nugs are a yellowish/almost lime green color and it has a bright and zesty lemon astringent chemmy smell. It smells like a super strong terpinolene-dominant sativa along the lines of Super Lemon Haze or Durban P, it smells like something I would only want to smoke before hitting the trail on a warm and a sunny day. But I believe it's the ocimene in the Deep Breath that smells like terpinolene to me. And it also tastes like SLH; it smells and tastes like a hazey lemony sativa that's going to turn up your heart rate and get you going. And yet - the high reminds me of an OG. It hits like an indica hybrid, with zones of heavy buzzing throughout the body, my legs are very heavy; lots of dreamy stony euphoria as well. Buzzing in the top of my head and the bottoms of my feet. Amazingly, it has the unmistakable aftertaste of the sweetest blackberry, so it was interesting to see that Blackberry is a grandparent of Deep Breath. So I would say I agree with David Gilmour, who said, "Take a Deep Breath. Take a Deep Breath now."

Jenny Kush

2/5/2026
In case you don't know, Lume in Michigan has one of the best Jenny Kush cuts in the country and that's what I'm enjoying. These are gorgeous nugs that you hardly ever see anymore - big, slightly loose, wispy landrace sativa nugs with sugar leaves wrapped around the outside of the bud, a trait inherited from its Amnesia Haze parent. These are some of the best-looking nugs I've ever seen; thick trichome coverage. The smell is exhilarating and extremely complex - there is a LOT going on in that jar. I smell a sugary/cinnamon sweetness with a strong odor of roses, with an orange/citrus part; in general, you could say the Jenny Kush smells like a sweet floral candy, or even perfume at times. It's got a nice high as well; an indica hybrid with a dreamy euphoria, this is not a "get things done" kind of strain. Flat heart rate, no anxiety, random fits of laughter. So it kind of hits like the legendary Amnesia Haze but it's an indica hybrid with those hard sativa edges rolled off. Tastes sweet and my pipe smells like hot pumpkin pie and sugar cookies after I smoke it. This is a fantastic strain for relaxing in the afternoon and evening.

Grape Gasoline

2/5/2026
Lovin' this cut of Grape Gas from Flwrpot in Michigan. Nice nugs that are shaped and colored like little hop buds, with a really nice grapey/gassy smell with a little cheesy funk on the back end. Sometimes it smells like red grapes, sometimes white; same for the taste. Sometimes it has a red wine taste that reminds me of the Moonbow (but with more gas), most of the time it's got a juicy white grape/white wine taste with some gas and spicy caryophyllene on the inhale as well. It's really nice to smoke. In terms of effects it's a strong indica hybrid; it's very relaxing and euphoric with a spacy cerebral side as well, great for music or movies. Sometimes I get a sort of "Headband" effect from this one, I call it the Electric Skullcap; it's these zones of electric buzzing all around my head, it's quite nice. And it has a grape candy aftertaste, like the Grape Bubbletape Gum we used to chew back in the 90's. Do the younglings of today even know what Grape Bubbletape tastes like? They will if they smoke some danky Grape Gas! And so will you, pilgrim.

Moonbow

2/4/2026
Ahh the Moonbow 112, easily one of my favorite indica hybrids. From Certified in Ohio, this strain has a big divergence in the smells it puts off. In the jar, the flower has a kind of cheesy/funky/grapey smell with a little pine in it but when I cut it up it puts off this wonderful grapey-blackberry smell. On the inhale through a dry pipe, I get flavors of grape with the tartness of raspberry; in joints, it gives a delicious and unmistakable taste of spicy red wine. The joint smells like grape-flavored incense and potpourri when it burns, I am in love with the smell of these Moonbow nugs when they burn. And the high is amazing - it's a very euphoric, happy, and tingly high, reminiscent of the Jenny Kush high. Random fits of laughter. This is a great strain for hanging with friends or chilling by yourself. And it's got a nice grape candy aftertaste.

Chem de la Chem

2/3/2026
Bred by JJ at Top Dawg Seeds and grown by Lume in Michigan, the Chem de la Chem has become my favorite Chem cut. This batch tested at 33.3% THC, .06% CBD, and 2.78% terps - it's a strongy! Nugs have big calyxes and big trichome heads that look like grains of sugar, with excellent coverage; smells like a delectable combination of sweetness and creaminess, like an almost-vanilla smell, with a hard chemical edge and a faint herbal smell that comes through intermittently. But the smell is primarily sweet and super creamy, tastes the same; you cannot help but love the smell and taste of CDLC. If you've never experienced "creamy" weed before, CDLC is your huckleberry. And the high is nuanced because it hits in a way that is both strong and smooth, like a velvet-covered sativa sledgehammer. It begins with a little change in the body, a lightening of the shoulders, before the initial head change arrives with a nice and stony brain buzz that seems to gel serendipitously with everything (as long as you don't have to do anything). This is not a "get things done" kind of sativa but it's instead a nighttime sativa, a very stony & psychedelic sativa hybrid with some swimminess in the body, and it's a long-lasting high. The high reminds me of ECSD (my favorite), it's both extremely stony & psychedelic AND euphoric & relaxing, it doesn't jack up your heart rate or make you feel like jumping out of your skin. Goes perfectly with music, as I went straight to Mozart's 41st Symphony when I first smoked this CDLC; it turns music into a mystical, psychic journey. This is a connoisseur's strain.
