Jack Herer reviews
We have the 'love & hate' relationship, me and Jack. It's a legendary strain and when you smoke it, you just know this is some oldschool, powerful stuff. The era of weed when each strain had it's own, unique effects. But let's start with it's smell and taste. The smell is and always will be an absolute abomination. It smells like old rotting herbs lying in Skunk's funk. It makes you almost dizzy how powerful is that smell. The taste is not THAT horrible... but it's still not very good hahah let's be honest. It tastes like if someone made a joint of earth, herbs and skunk's musk. Now the effects! Jack is very "sunshine-y" you feel like your mind is opened to some greater knowledge. Very cerebral. Like the windows to your head would be opened after some long time. Could be almost psychedelic, unique and I really wouldn't recommend it to newbies. It makes your eyes and throat extremely dry and is not usable for pain-relieving purposes. It's an oldschool, powerful and UNIQUE strain which if you try once, you remember it forever. It's a window to a different times of weed.
I tried this strain as everyone was recommending it for chronic migraine and I’m glad I did. I use this to keep the constant pain under wraps a little bit. Then when it is really bad I use Grandi guava too which is a god send at reducing severe migraine pain. The bonus with Jack is that it also does wonders for my mental health, I have BPD, chronic anxiety and autism and this strain makes me feel almost “free”, I feel light and happy and giggly and relaxed which is a nice break from my chaotic mind
One of my favorites. Cartridge from Redbud Roots. Very good for focus and socializing. I have adhd which makes it super hard to just sit down and watch a show or movie or play a game without checking my phone/doing something with my hands but this strain gets me locked in. Helps with anxiety and overthinking.
Was recommended this legend, and I typically don't like Sativa Hybrids because they can cause me to bug a bit, but this is deeeeeelightful. While I can't say I'm a fan of the smell, and the taste (for me) is generally a black pepper/earth flavor, the effects are sublime. A gentle lift, a burst of energy, and then it's just clear-headed, relaxed, calmness. Not stoney feeling, or locked at all. Great for reading, listening to music, cleaning, or really anything you just need to focus on. My new daytime favorite for when I can't find The Soap.
During COVID shutdowns a lot of us got displaced, and still needed jobs. This cop had partial ownership in a warehouse and made it into a distro center for supplies. A lot of cool people contracted to work here thru the shutdowns. We all smoked this specific strain while working here lol. Thanks to the dude who had it on deck all the time and gave it away for free, we were the most productive happy warehouse workers around. The cop quit being a cop and decided to keep the biz rolling because it went so well. He was honestly too cool and caring to be a cop anyways he was a foster dad and everything. He saved a lot of our asses by providing us a high paying relatively safe job with no strings attached thru covid.
Smells adjacent to.. creosote? Very herbal smell. Akin to the air in an ice skating rink. Sometimes like cat piss.. ozonic, like the air in a pine valley.. hard to pin down. Controversial, and polarizing, but a personal favorite, and proper medicine, in a world short of it, so to speak. This one is a fiver from me, and a must try in my book. Wouldn't pick it all day, but would probably pick it at the start of every day, if I could.
Jack Herer seems to live up to its legendary status, and honestly, I’m here for it. I picked some up from pullupdc in DC as a nighttime remedy to help me sleep better, and wow—it works like a charm. But the surprise came the morning after: I woke up feeling energized, clear-headed, and even a little creative. It’s like the mental fog just vanished overnight.
I’m about four puffs in right now, and let me tell you, the high kicks in quick. It’s this smooth body buzz that keeps you relaxed, but your mind feels sharp—perfect for unwinding without turning into a couch potato. The taste? Lightly earthy with a fresh, piney citrus vibe that lingers just right.
What stands out is how balanced it feels—calming but not sedative, uplifting but not overpowering. For me, this strain is all about washing away the stress of the day and setting the tone for an even better tomorrow. Highly recommend giving it a shot if you want the best of both worlds!
This is (by far) the only sativa I’ve been able to smoke without getting paranoia or extremely jittery, and has now made it’s way into my favourite strains/regular rotation.
I hold a lot of tension in my body when I am stressed and it just melted away after smoking this. It’s energizing while also managing to quiet my racing thoughts, I was finally able to sit down and focus on stuff without getting distracted by every little thing or getting lost in thought rabbit holes. My mind never felt so clear.
Very good shit, I highly recommend.
