Earthy, sticky and sweet, this is a mellow strain with a much lower tendency to cause anxiety or paranoia than strains like AK-47. It is not the easiest nor highest yielding strain and benefits from at least a moderate amount of growing experience. However, it's mould-resistant and hardy and smokes beautifully; putting it firmly on my list of favourites. On the rare occasion that overconsumption of JH has given me anxiety, it's a milder, more complex and 'sophisticated' anxiety if that makes sense...nothing that can't be worked through.

The first good strain after having several not so good ones so I may be biased. Decent effects. Not too sleepy. I was pleasantly surprised.
He's my main man!❤
Uplifting, energizing, head high.
I cannot use while in a high stress/high anxiety mood or it makes my heart race.
Great morning strain to get moving... but I love at any time of the day. A definite top 5 sativa!
The energy it brings is fantastic. Although it made me feel a bit jittery. I didn't have any anxiety or nervousness. I did feel happy and uplifted but also a little brainless at times. I typically use during the day so I found it a bit too energetic for me. Could be fun in group events or parties.
Fun (and true) story: While hospitalized with pneumonia, strep, and sepsis last year, the nurse who kept me calm (and my heart rate below 160) in the ER asked me what I did for a living. I told her I managed a pot shop in West Seattle.
She asked, "Oh, so do you know Jack Herer?"
"The strain, or the man?"
"My dad," she replied.
In my mind, JH is what a sativa should smell and smoke like. Tend to think of it as the coffee of weed, a go-to for anything requiring focus and energy, Can certainly land on the anxious, fidgety side, so I'll often lean toward hybrids like Candy Jack and Platinum Jack.
And wherever you are, River, I love and appreciate you. There isn't a doubt in my mind you saved my life that day.
