Northern Lights reviews
Read people’s experiences with the cannabis strain Northern Lights.
This strain is a nostalgic one. It's one of the first I ever smoked. It can grow great outside but one of the best medicines for insomnia, muscle pain and anxiety attacks, for me.
The best. Def recommend
I've smoked this strain on and off since 1992, but always in flower form. It would usually leave me very stoned, lazy, hungry and tired. I needed something that would put me asleep fast and keep me asleep in case I woke up in the middle of night. In vaporizer form I saw it in a cartridge of RSO. I am new to vape pens and smokable oils so I was very pleasantly surprised how I can wake up in the middle of the night, take a quick hit from my vape pen and fall back asleep within a couple minutes or even less than a minute. That is great and I've been able to get to bed early and sleep the best I've slept in years. I'm very glad that I tried it again and especially in a vaporizer cartridge.
Very mellow, very relaxed, perfect for an afternoon watching tv
Disclaimer: I use medicines combined with weed. The effect a strain has on me may be totally different for someone else. Also talk to your doctor or do some research on internet before combining medicines with weed.
Used in this trip:
Venlafaxine 225mg 1/dd
Clonazepam 0.5mg 3/dd
Olanzapine 2.5mg 1/dd
Nortgern Lights 0 2 gr smoked in a shisha with cherry tobacco
The trip: I rememver awesome times with tgis strain. It always sent me to a happy place in the past. Years went by abd now tge online coffeeshop I buy from has it. When I received it I couldn't be happier. I'm currently tapering off of Olanzapine and I need a strong indica to calm me down since anxiety is crazy.
The first joint I smoked gave minimal effect. I was dissapointed that the olanzapine obviously was blocking some receptors in my brain.
Then I tried it in my shisha. At first I felt nothing. Then after 15 minutes the stuff hit me like the titanic. The anxiety was destroyed and replaced with inner peace. I still had some negative thoughts but didn't care. Colours looked intense and music sounded delicuous. I got horrible munches and while smoking more from the shisha I became wasted. I also became horny and decided to do a nice camsession with my "friend-with-benefits". It was awesome. I felt slight euphoria taking over. I kept having the feeling my head was loose from my body. Then I decided to watch a movie and I laughed my ass off. The trip lasted 3 hours.
I have a huge tolerance for weed and usually need strong sativas to trip but Northern Lights never dissapointed me before. Tgisvold school strain is serious stuff, but it sends you to very nice places. It beats kushes anytime.
Try it yourself if yoy can !
Nice high. Had about 10 minutes of stronger intensity at first, with a touch of anxiety but hat melted away quickly and was left with a good general relaxation. Not really a cerebral high so good strain for watching tv or having a conversation since you can still concentrate well.
Northern lights, an indica that doesn't look like much in the way of pretty. Doesn't really smell like much either.
The flavor profile: Earthy, I guess would be the keyword here, just your average run of the mill indica, no one particular flavor stands out amongst the rest. Don't expect to be blown away by the flavor.
The high: the high is, good. Feels almost like a CBD high, rather than a THC high, although my bud was tested at 18% THC.
Your body gets relaxed, but the head high is minimal, apart from some light headedness. Your body becomes very heavy, and if you're lying down, the part of your body that makes contact with the bed/couch/car seat begins to tingle, as you can feel your body comfortably resting.
It's not some super strain like GDP or King Henry where you're OUT like a light. It's more, mild. But very good none the less if you want to get to sleep or are having issues with some light body pain.
Overall, 3 out of 5.
It's an OK strain, def. one you will want to try if you like indica, but its properties won't blow you away in any meaningful way to where you'll be desperate to get back for more. It's a very "get the job done" strain, kind of like CBD's, nothing fancy to look at, nothing lovely to smell, nothing mouthwatering to taste.

Oh my. This is a lovely strain that makes muscle spasms and pain just slip away. I’d say half and half about head high vs body high. Definite buzzing and tingling sensation from head to toe.
