Pumpkin Spice

11/18/2025
Fernway vape. I'm an old hippie with high tolerance. Like most older people I have arthritis and sometimes the pain is worthy of medication of some kind. After spine surgery a couple of years ago, I was trying to avoid narcotics. The pain before and after the surgery was 8-9 most of the time. I turned to my old friend cannabis to see if it could help. Truth be told, I succumbed to oxycodone's siren call and my doctor's prescription. I took it for several weeks to find some relief; it really is the only thing that works for post-surgery pain wish they'd invent something else. Cannabis became my go-to for getting OFF the horrible narcotic. Habit forming OMG. This strain was super helpful, it's not a straight indica so it doesn't put you to sleep, but its feel-good presence was really useful. It tastes great, sort of like the way pumpkin pie spice smells. The effect is immediate (most Fernway strains are like that, they have wonderful oils), head high, a smile appears as the pain recedes. The high lasts - about 2 hours of smiling ahead. A downside is munchies, have something snack-like nearby, my favorite is salty - not sugary. All in all, a good choice strain for any withdrawal you may suffer from narcotics or just for a pleasant afternoon.

Sour Diesel

11/7/2025
Long time toker, I favor high THC strains, sativas and sativa hybrids are my morning starter strains. I suffer from chronic pain and high tolerance has been a problem when looking for strains that will quiet the throbbing. Sour diesel gives me quick euphoria but lets me be clear eyed at the same time. That sounds like a contradiction but it's why I return to sour diesel when I can find it. It doesn't burn the throat when delivered in a vape. I don't know about flavor, it's not really what I care about when I'm seeking relief for symptoms created by arthritis. I've stopped all narcotics, I don't need them anymore and they are poison anyway. It's also a good social strain, no paranoia that I've experienced. Moderate munchies demanding something salty (or a chocolate sundae). All in all, I understand why it's so iconic.

Refined Taste

9/26/2025
I had never heard of Refined Taste and decided to try it in a vape cart. I'm a long-time pot user with a very high tolerance for cannabis especially (for some reason) indica or hybrids for sleep. As a result, I have plenty of vigorous choices during the day, but I really need something to make me not care about bad things anymore when I go to sleep. And there are a lot of bad things going on, anyone else notice that? In general though, this one makes me happy, and super stoned, euphoric-wise. I had to wait and come down a bit before I wrote this or it wouldn't have made any sense. Like it makes sense now, right? The draw is very clean, not harsh in the throat, I can't identify a way to describe the taste but it's sort of earthy and good. This strain is hard to find so I'll be buying up my dispensary's stock and see if he knows where else I could reliably find it. Glad I stumbled on this.

Raspberry Skywalker

7/21/2025
The Raspberry Skywalker carts by PVX have been my go-to for pain and anxiety. Another benefit I've unearthed is I get horny. I'm no spring chicken so this is comforting (to know I'm still alive) - very helpful strain, not too crazy, just an instant head rush, then slow calm happy drift.

Tahoe OG

12/3/2024
Now that I don't have to skulk around in back alleys to find dope I can't really identify (60's girl) it's been great to be able to find this strain for my arthritis pain. As I age, I also have trouble sleeping sometimes. Not anymore. This was a vape from a very reliable dispensary near Boston (Diem). I wait until evening, and start the process. A single hit brings on a euphoria I've never felt from an indica before, very immediate. Yum. I have no doubt in my mind that I would be a sitting duck for oxycodone addiction if I had to take serious pain medication for long. I think Tahoe OG would take the edge off nicely. And, if I did have to take narcotics, strains like this would make withdrawal much easier. A few minutes after the first hit, I get creative. I love to make AI images and cartoons. The best ones have been made with this strain. Then in an hour, I take another, and I will sleep through the night. A five-star experience.

Red Headed Stranger

8/30/2024
I have very high tolerance to most strains. I had this one as a vape. I'm an old toker so I'm comparing this strain to ones that go back to the 70's - tough acts to follow. In two draws of RHS I was in a warm euphoric bath. So rare for me to go there. A third draw and I was giggling helplessly over something someone said. Also hard to go there for me, a chronic pain, PTSD patient. I stopped there (for awhile) because I didn't want to get anxious, pure sativas like this can sometimes do that. Not a tiny bit of that, and I never had a single paranoid thought. None of that. I was able to get some writing done, and I had some great ideas for how my story should be written. After about an hour of creative thinking I found myself wanting another draw, it took me right back to the warm bath stage. This almost never happens for me to be able to recreate a high. Red Headed Stranger will be on my go to strain shelf.

Fernway - Mandarin Orange 0.5g Vape Cartridge (S)

6/27/2024
Very veteran smoker, very high tolerance. This is my morning smoke. I have chronic arthritis pain. This smoke is like oxy on a stick (vape pen). It sets me up for the day, First hit - huge euphoria, second hit more of the same. It will be a good idea to pause here, don't get greedy if you smoke too much at one time you may become irritable and a bit anxious. Over time I've learned to keep a good quality CBD tincture around, a squirt will take the edge off that sativa high. It is a powerful high. The pain relief lasts for a couple of hours. Later in the day I'll migrate to a good indica like granddaddy purple. Good Night.

Golden Tiger

I am a veteran cannabis consumer. My medical needs are a long list with pain at the top. Relentless arthritis everywhere. I have severe stress from a solid year of excruciating pain waiting for surgery. I use CBD for inflammation, it helps but it's hard to measure how much. It's the high THC strains that help the most with my symptoms. On rare occasions I've been known to overdo the sativa. This strain is no exception. Sip it. First hit, instant euphoria and my shoulders drop (a good sign that this is going to be a good one). I use it as a Fernway vape. I also like their "mandarin orange" with the same results and the same cautions. The high (for me) is short lived though, I seem to need to reach for the pen more than I'd like. But maybe that's just the high tolerance talking.

Apple Fritter

6/4/2024
In day time I enjoy a good sativa. I picked AF up as a two-fer, my dispensary in Lynn, MA has great deals. I like to experiment with entourage effects. By about mid-day, I usually pick up an indica; this time, I tried AF to layer over the sativa. I wanted to document how I felt with the two overlapping strains. Well, the first 2 draws of AF made it so I couldn't remember what I was trying to write about. It progressed to a complete divorce from ambition, motivation, competition, and any other annoying stressful things PTSD anxiety drags me through. Strains like this are great for "what if" thinking. What if my sister dies, what if I get old and can't take care of myself, blah blah. AF makes it "la, la, la, lahhh, la la", if that makes any sense.

L'Orange

6/2/2024
Rhythm is a great brand - they seem to start with really good strains when they create oils for vaping. And the strains are derived from really good flower. This is an observation only, but I'm a long-time toker with very high tolerance and L'Orange is a very pleasant surprise. I picked it up in a MA dispensary as a two-fer, I wasn't familiar with the strain but thought I'd give it a try. I'm a PTSD person, much better now thanks, but still have symptoms. Two hits from this vape and I was happily euphoric. I was watching an old 50's sci-fi movie and I just started to giggle and couldn't stop. It was a Ray Harryhausen stop-motion monster movie. Terrific film just made me laugh so hard my stomach hurt. This is just what the doctor ordered, literally. Forget the stupor-inducing big pharma drugs, this is the best afternoon I've had in forever. Happy and still giggling after 2 hours. Not for the novice, not 15% as listed on the leafly page, THC more like 24%. Pace yourself, and not for just before bed.
