Incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Great selections and always worth asking for help. They always have a strain or two closer to the $10 a gram price point. When I bargain shop I’m normally incredibly impressed.

Pre-roll 0.5 g by Alternative Solutions from NHHC in DC. Lives up to the reputation. I’m grabbing an 1/8th to add to stash box. 30+ year old strains are always special and Bubble Gum lived up to that reputation. I was skeptical but wrong. Sweet smoke. A deep muscle relaxation as in deep. Like a chemical muscle melt. To say the muscle melt was deep is probably an understatement. It does nothing for nerve pain but after a day out doing stuff, this is like insta-spa / wet noodle. Balanced head stone (more than a high) but not incapacitating mentally. Chilling on the couch time. And then there is time.....does it move slow. Very linear and not disjointed but this is an in the moment relaxation and tune out with a nice happy uplift. Very special.

Double Tangie Banana from Appelles bought at National Holistic Health in DC. $15 a gram. I resisted this strain at first because of the hype and price, but was I wrong. Very sticky flower. Fruity and a hint of green tea. Smoke was mild, fruity with patches of banana like flavor. No bitter and just the right bite to mimic a banana. One of the better tasting strains if not the best. It delivered on taste. I thought it was hype, but was dead wrong. More of a stone than high with mild paranoia (was that a lamp or a person) but overall very balanced. I could have just chilled outside by the pool all night. Then massive dry eyes. The stone was progressive and solid. Well bred product. The mild/humorous paranoia was worth it for the taste. Cerebral and body relaxation and solid pain relief for a THC only product. Overall - this one is like a fine wine that is expensive but justified.

Had a gift preroll of Alt Sol’s LA Chocolat #9. More stoned than high but funnier. Started with a great release of body tension, some focus and then a nice stone. Eyelids felt droopy. But then trying to brush my teeth and not laugh at the Mrs was pushing it. The humor kicked in. Overall: Like Blue Dream but a stoned instead of a high. Good on muscle pain. Fine on mild nerve pain.

Bought Cap City Silver Kush for $35 an 1/8th. Rolled in raw with a cotton filter. I was in wicked pain (failing joint / bone) so tried the Silver Kush instead of 800 mg of ibuprofen. Worked amazingly well. Nice head and body high. Nothing crazy. Linear high. Anxiety of the arm not working dissipated. Knife like pain melted away. Dialed in a nice sense of bliss. Just solid well rounded experience. Very linear. Put on some music and was able to relax and get some sleep. Kept me pain free until lunch today. This will be a regular in the rotation.

Lucid Dream by Cap City (DC) paid $35 for 1/8th on sale. Rolled a 0.5 g in a Raw paper with a cotton filter. Flower smelled like green tea to me. My 1/8 was one large but and a small guy to make weight. The smoke was very fruity. At first I thought I screwed up and rolled the Blueberry Haze. It had a heavy blueberry note. Very sweet and fruity. Ridiculously sweet and fruity. Hit my eyes first with a muted Amnesia Haze stutter. Time started to slip. Pressure in the back of my head built like a reverse head band. The body felt a nice decompress. Then the pressure in migrated to the front 10-20 mins later. Great high/haze. The Blue Dream mellows it all but in an uplifting way. Some of the severity of the Amnesia Haze is toned down. Relaxing, focused, hazy, vision in really amped, hearing / music is slightly better. Mild body relaxation. Not great on nerve pain relief. Positive mood enhancement. Somewhat trippy with fireworks with eyes closed and wandering thoughts. It wasn’t a smooth trippy feeling like a Peyote Cookies but that is good if you want to interact with people. I did not get the weepy weed syndrome or feel overly emotional. Just relaxed. I wouldn’t go to a club on Amnesia Haze. Lucid Dream would be interesting. A truly unique high/haze and a must try if you want to explore the trippy strains.

SFV OG tincture by Cap City Cultivation bought at NHHC in DC. Think the flower tested at THC=23% w/ 750 mg of THC in the 0.5 Fl Oz. 0.7 ml followed in 45 by 0.5 ml. Hit the head first with slight eyebrow pressure. Like a mild headband. A little foggy and slow. Then a wave numbing down over my body. Very mild morphine like. The extra 0.5 took care of the lingering shoulder pain (dead bones and joint needs to be replaced). Then after 30-40 mins it reversed to a reasonably clear head with a numb and slightly relaxed body. No overly heavy sensation. Let me watch TV and then fall asleep pain free. Very nice relaxing experience considering how it helped with pain. Taste was earthy with a lemony lysol like finish. I took the tincture straight. One of the best on evening pain and the clear (ish) head was a huge plus.

Strawberry Cough Premium Shatter (THC - 78% / by Alt Sol) in a Firefly 2. Bought in DC at NHHC. It is a cold and rainy night so no flower outside tonight. The cold and rain also meant the arm hurt. I’ve been saving the shatter and tonight is as good as any. Bad day, bad weather, bad news and arm is on fire. Yeah, crack open the shatter. Load the Firefly and off to the bathroom....because it has a fan. Anyway, tasty. Not what I was expecting from shatter. Central pallet with a slight bitterness of a strawberry. I loaded the firefly four times with progressively larger loads. The taste lasted throughout. It became more pronounced on the 3 and 4 load of shatter. Bathroom humor for the degenerates. The shatter was so much more flavorful then last time I herb vaped strawberry cough flower. Smooth flavor inhale and exhale. The vaped flower had that harsh cough / upper throat tickle. This had a bit but it was mild. I could be converted to shatters and rosins. Easy, quick and the flavor is unmatched. So much easier to dial in the experience. The Firefly pad is a pain and costly. It could be dab rig time. A quick mellowing and the pattern in my shirt took on new interest. Mellowed into some deep concentration. Relaxing and chill. Not incapacitating though. It is just a well put together high. Feels complete and stable. Linear high with nothing unexpected. I would have kept going to see what the outer limit was like. In fact this review is so amazing I just might. I’m probably going to close my eyes though and like about it first. 5 star shatter. Unexpectedly good.

Bought in DC. Tested at THC = 17.4%. Roughly 0.3 g smoked in a Raw natural wrapper. Strong blueberry smell and taste. They aren’t joking about the smell. Overall a well balanced plant. A linear progression of relaxation and mild euphoria. As long as that progression holds it should let you dial in the relief. I only rolled a mini so there could be a cliff there but it didnt give any hints of it. Pain relief was also mild. Was better at elevating my mood than taking away aches and pains. Despite being a really nice mild plant, something felt lacking. Not as complete as Blue Dream or Blue Cheese. If I was going out, blue dream. If I really wanted to sleep, blue cheese. A solid base nonetheless. Watched baseball and just chilled. So maybe that is the point of Blueberry, it sits between blue dream and blue cheese for when you need a little pick me up and want to chill. Saving the rest for Thanksgiving. It would be a nice addition post-food and before hanging out on the couch watching a football game I known nothing about and don’t care about.

District Cookies (aka Peyote Cookies). THC = 20.2%. Rough cut in a King Palm mini. Smooth smoke. Fruity-ish central palette. Central head pressure into some mild paranoia. Was that a raccoon sneaking up behind me? Depth perception faded and eye stutter like Amnesia Haze and then out of nowhere I was very aware of every face muscle which promptly froze. I was locked in. That was abrupt. Tried talking to the Mrs but my sense of time was gone. It was work to talk with no sense of time. Giggles set in. Muscles tensed and then entered a deep relaxation. Walking to bed was work. Balance was lacking and walking like an old man was funny. Then I almost killed myself with the electric toothbrush. Couldn’t figure out how to move it in my mouth and it was vibrating my entire head. The vibrations were insane. Dont ever use one while on Pey. Closing my eyes sent me on a journey which didnt help get the toothbrush out of my mouth. Trippy. Laughing through the event didnt help either and then I couldn’t figure out how to spit. I’m lucky to be alive and still married. In bed I would go on a trip to waking up and telling a story. “Dear just want to let you know your mother did not audibly fart when she visited this afternoon.” I was cracking myself up. Muscles would tense then feel like they were floating. Back on a slide down a blue tube. No clue how long i was up for. Sense of time was gone. Then I slept. Day after has been slow. Pain in my shoulder (knife stabbing level) dissipated and then was gone. It would have been a 4 advil night but Pey took care of it. Day after it is still good. So thumbs up for pain relief but this is a project that requires planning. Brush teeth before not after. Thc 20.2% is one of the lower my dispensary has so I was not expecting this hard of a hit. The plant impressed. 4 stars because it almost killed me.
