Chronic

chronic, weed, marijuana
Weed. (Leafly)

A slang term for high-quality, potent cannabis, popularized in the 1990s and 2000s with music producer Dr. Dre’s albums The Chronic and 2001.

“My homie and I smoked some dank chronic last night and I’m still feeling it a little this morning.”

Where does the word ‘chronic’ come from?

In an interview with actor Seth Rogan, rapper Snoop Dogg explained that in 1991, he and Dr. Dre misheard the term “hydroponic” as “hydrochronic” when asking about some great weed they were smoking. “Hydrochronic” got shortened to simply “chronic,” and the rest is history.
